Liverpool Transfer News: Latest Updates as Reds Eye Busy End to Summer Window
With just over a month remaining until the summer transfer window closes on September 1, Liverpool are expected to stay active in the market. The club has already been busy, having made seven additions to Arne Slot’s squad.
Hugo Ekitike recently became the latest signing for the Reds. While goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili was signed last year, this summer has seen the arrivals of Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Florian Wirtz, Armin Pecsi, and Freddie Woodman.
Despite these signings, Liverpool are still aiming to finalize a few more deals before the deadline. Ideally, they hope to bring in at least two more players, with Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak still heavily linked to a potential move to Anfield.
Defensively, Liverpool may need reinforcements following Jarell Quansah’s transfer to Bayer Leverkusen, which leaves the squad with just three senior centre-backs. Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi is reportedly on the club’s radar to bolster their defensive line.
On the outgoing side, some players could be set to depart. Luis Diaz appears close to a £65.5 million transfer to Bayern Munich, and there’s increasing speculation about Darwin Nunez possibly joining a club in the Saudi Pro League.
Meanwhile, uncertainty remains over the future of Harvey Elliott, and further rumors could emerge regarding Federico Chiesa, Tyler Morton, Kostas Tsimikas, and Ben Doak.
