Liverpool has reached out to European powerhouses regarding the potential signing of another top-tier attacker to join Isak.

Liverpool Reportedly Inquires About Real Madrid’s Rodrygo

Liverpool has reportedly reached out to Real Madrid to discuss the potential transfer of Brazilian forward Rodrygo Goes.

The Reds have shown serious intent in the transfer market this summer and may still have more business to complete. While their current focus is said to be on Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak—per reports from BBC Sport and others—Rodrygo is also emerging as a key target.

Spanish journalist Siro Lopez revealed that Liverpool had initiated contact with Real Madrid about Rodrygo, stating, “The information I received on Sunday was that Liverpool had at least spoken with Madrid about the terms for Rodrygo’s transfer.” He added that Rodrygo’s situation at the Spanish club is “uncomfortable,” and Madrid is obliged to listen to any interested parties.

Liverpool’s forward line has already seen significant changes with the arrivals of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike. Now, both Isak and Rodrygo could further strengthen their attacking options.

Despite not always being a consistent starter at Real Madrid, Rodrygo has proven his worth with key contributions over recent seasons. Last year, he tallied 16 goals and eight assists. With more consistent minutes, his output could increase further.

Following Luis Diaz’s move to Bayern Munich, Rodrygo could be a natural successor on the left wing. Ekitike could also slot into that position, though he may be used more centrally if Isak joins as the primary striker. Wirtz, meanwhile, might be better suited for a central role, with Cody Gakpo offering flexibility across the front line.
