🚨💣 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆: Liverpool’s bid for Marc Guehi was rejected by Crystal Palace, so they’re moving on to sign Giovanni Leoni from Parma instead, with plans for him to join immediately.

Liverpool Turn to Parma’s Leoni After Guehi Bid Rejected

Liverpool have shifted focus to Parma defender Giovanni Leoni after seeing their move for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi turned down.

The Reds had hoped to bring in Guehi as part of their summer rebuild, but Palace rejected their approach and remain determined to keep the England international.

Attention has now turned to 18-year-old Leoni, one of Serie A’s most promising young defenders, with plans for him to join immediately if a deal can be struck. The fee is expected to be around €30–35 million, and personal terms are believed to be close to agreed.

Leoni made 17 league appearances for Parma last season and has drawn praise for his composure, physicality, and ability to play out from the back. He would provide depth following Jarell Quansah’s sale to Bayer Leverkusen and Joe Gomez’s latest injury, and is seen as a long-term successor to Virgil van Dijk.
