Isak Keen on Liverpool Move — Klopp Could Hand Reds £50m Boost
Liverpool’s push for Alexander Isak could soon get an unexpected assist from a familiar face — former manager Jürgen Klopp.
The Reds recently had an offer of over £110m for the 25-year-old striker rejected by Newcastle United, who are holding out for £150m. If completed, the deal would smash the British transfer record and make Isak the third most expensive player in football history.
Liverpool have already raised funds through the £15m sale of Tyler Morton to Lyon, with Darwin Núñez close to a £46m move to Al-Hilal. Now, Klopp’s current role as Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer could play a decisive part in topping up the Reds’ transfer budget.
According to Bild, Klopp’s RB Leipzig side are eyeing Harvey Elliott — a player Klopp signed from Fulham in 2019 and handed his Liverpool debut. Leipzig’s interest could bring in £40–50m for the Premier League champions, depending on whether a buy-back clause is included.
Elliott’s stock is on the rise after impressing in England’s U21 Euros triumph this summer. Klopp, still an admirer, is reportedly pushing Leipzig to make the move happen.
Leipzig’s pursuit is likely to hinge on the sale of Xavi Simons, who is in talks with Chelsea over a potential £61m transfer. Should that deal go through, Leipzig would have the funds to tempt Liverpool — potentially clearing the path for Isak’s record-breaking arrival at Anfield.
