Liverpool transfer news: Alexander Isak huge update as ‘personal terms agreed’ for star

Liverpool Transfer Round-Up: Isak Pushes for Move, Leipzig Eye Elliott, Guehi Interest Grows

With just over a week left in the summer transfer window, Liverpool could yet add to their busy recruitment drive. Arne Slot’s side have already brought in eight new signings, but more business — both incoming and outgoing — may be on the cards before the September 1 deadline.

The Reds face Newcastle United on Monday Night Football as they look to build on their strong opening win against Bournemouth. But off the pitch, speculation continues to swirl.

Alexander Isak pressing for Liverpool switch

Liverpool are now said to be in pole position to land Alexander Isak, with reports from Caught Offside claiming the Newcastle striker is “pushing hard” for a move to Anfield.

The Swedish forward added fuel to the fire earlier this week with a lengthy social media post addressing the uncertainty over his future. According to the Liverpool Echo, Isak made clear his frustrations, heightening speculation of a late-window exit.

Liverpool have been linked with Isak for months, and with tensions between the player and Newcastle growing, the Reds may sense an opportunity to finally secure a deal.

Harvey Elliott wanted by Leipzig

Meanwhile, Sky Germany correspondent Florian Plettenberg reports that RB Leipzig remain keen on Harvey Elliott. The Bundesliga club see him as the ideal replacement for Xavi Simons, who is expected to join Chelsea.

Elliott is believed to have agreed personal terms with Leipzig, though a fee still needs to be negotiated between the two clubs.

Liverpool step up Guehi pursuit

On the defensive front, Liverpool are preparing to intensify their efforts to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.

The England international has yet to commit to a new deal at Selhurst Park, leaving Palace with a decision to make before the window closes. The Eagles are already dealing with the distraction of Eberechi Eze’s expected move to Arsenal, which could pave the way for Guehi’s departure.
