Manager confirms star could join Liverpool next week. Liverpool could sign themselves another star next week…

Liverpool’s transfer business may not be over yet, with Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi emerging as the club’s next major target. The move gained momentum after Palace manager Oliver Glasner admitted that Guehi’s future is uncertain and could be resolved within the coming days.

The Reds have already spent heavily this summer, bringing in Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, and Hugo Ekitiké, with Wirtz setting a new club-record fee. Yet, manager Arne Slot still wants reinforcements — particularly in attack and defense.

Currently, Ekitiké is the only senior striker, while Liverpool remain hopeful of sealing a deal for Alexander Isak. At the same time, the club sees Guehi as a potential bargain, given his contract situation at Palace.

Glasner, speaking to reporters, made the situation clear:

“If Marc signs a new deal, he can stay. If not, we must reassess. Financial rules are strict, and every club in Europe has to sell to comply.”

With Palace chairman Steve Parish already hinting at a willingness to cash in, multiple outlets — including the BBC — report that Liverpool are front-runners and that Guehi is “likely to join” Anfield next week.
