Cody Gakpo Commits Future to Liverpool with New Long-Term Deal
Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo has signed a new long-term contract at Anfield, extending his stay with the club well beyond his previous deal, which was set to expire in 2028. The exact length of the new agreement has not been disclosed.
The 26-year-old Dutch international has become an important figure for the Reds since joining from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023. To date, he has made 131 appearances, scoring 42 goals and registering 19 assists in all competitions.
Speaking to the club’s website, Gakpo expressed his delight:
“It feels amazing to extend my contract at this beautiful club. I’m very grateful and hopefully I can create many more great moments here. My family feels at home and that made this decision even easier. I’m thankful I can continue.”
Gakpo and Liverpool now turn their attention to a huge Premier League clash, as they prepare to host Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday (16:30 BST).
