Barcelona considering early exit for loanee Marcus Rashford

Barcelona Considering Early End to Marcus Rashford’s Loan

Barcelona are reportedly weighing up the possibility of cutting Marcus Rashford’s loan spell short in January if the forward fails to improve his form, according to Spanish outlet El Nacional.

Such a move would cost the Catalan club €5 million, a penalty fee written into the original loan agreement with Manchester United. The decision would mark a premature end to what has already been a frustrating spell for Rashford in Spain, with senior figures at the club said to be disappointed by his performances.

Rashford joined Barcelona in July after falling out of favour at Old Trafford, becoming only the second England international to represent the Blaugrana. The 26-year-old had produced 11 goals and nine assists across 41 appearances last season, split between United and his loan stint at Aston Villa, but has yet to hit those levels in La Liga.

If Rashford cannot turn things around before the winter window, Barcelona may decide the experiment is over.
