Eden Hazard to Return in Chelsea Blue for Legends Clash at Stamford Bridge
Eden Hazard will once again grace the Stamford Bridge pitch in Chelsea colours, as the Belgian icon prepares to feature in the Chelsea Legends vs Liverpool Legends match on October 11th.
It will be Hazard’s first time playing in blue since departing for Real Madrid in 2019, though he did return as a visitor when Chelsea knocked Madrid out of the 2021 Champions League semi-finals. Now, fans will have the chance to see him back where he was adored — in what many fondly dubbed “The Garden of Eden.”
Hazard’s Liverpool connection
The winger built a reputation for tormenting the Reds during his prime, with his unforgettable solo strike at Anfield in the 2018 Carabao Cup standing as one of his greatest Chelsea moments. Weaving past five defenders before drilling home at the far post, the goal remains one of the defining highlights of his Premier League career.
A star-studded lineup
Hazard won’t be alone. Fellow club legends John Terry, Roberto Di Matteo, Ramires, Joe Cole, Katie Chapman, Carlo Cudicini, William Gallas, and Gemma Davison are also confirmed, as Chelsea seek revenge for the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool Legends at Anfield earlier this year.
A cause beyond football
The fixture will not only serve as a celebration of Chelsea history but also as a fundraiser, with proceeds going towards the Chelsea FC Foundation and the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust.
For Blues fans, October’s clash offers more than nostalgia — it’s a rare chance to relive the artistry of Eden Hazard in blue, dazzling once again under the lights at Stamford Bridge.
