Alexander Isak’s debut stats for Liverpool have been revealed following a thrilling victory against Atletico.

Liverpool’s Champions League opener at Anfield ended in a thrilling 3-2 victory over Atletico Madrid, and while Virgil van Dijk’s late header stole the headlines, much of the post-match discussion focused on the debut of new £125 million signing Alexander Isak.

The Swedish striker, who arrived from Newcastle United for a British record fee, was handed his first start by Arne Slot but made way for Hugo Ekitike in the 57th minute. Despite limited minutes, Isak’s numbers quickly circulated on social media.

According to CBS Sports, Isak recorded 25 touches, four of them inside the Atletico box. He registered two shots, one on target, and completed two passes into the final third while also creating a chance—without being dispossessed once.

Vice-captain Andy Robertson was quick to praise the new arrival: “I thought Isak was excellent. He didn’t have much of a pre-season, but especially in the first half, he was brilliant. Naturally, he got tired, but it’s fantastic to have a player like Hugo to come on. They represent the future of this club, and I’m sure they will only improve.”

Liverpool’s victory maintained their perfect start to the 2025/26 campaign and offered supporters a first glimpse of their record signing. Next up is the season’s first Merseyside Derby, as Everton visit Anfield this weekend.
