Liverpool Injury Update: Alisson Becker Forced Off vs Galatasaray
Liverpool have suffered a potential blow in their Champions League clash with Galatasaray as Alisson Becker was withdrawn in the 56th minute due to injury.
The Brazilian goalkeeper, 32, sustained the issue while saving a one-on-one from Victor Osimhen. He had made three key saves earlier in the match but was unable to stop Osimhen’s 16th-minute penalty, which gave Galatasaray the lead.
Alisson has a history of injuries, having missed 17 matches last season, but remains Liverpool’s undisputed first-choice keeper under contract until 2027. His enforced absence puts added pressure on backup Giorgi Mamardashvili, who replaced him, as well as the newly bolstered goalkeeping options Freddie Woodman and Armin Pecsi.
The Reds will be hoping Alisson’s injury is minor, as any extended spell on the sidelines could complicate their Champions League and domestic campaigns.
