Andy Robertson Weighs Liverpool Future Amid Growing Celtic Speculation

According to Football Insiderโ€™s Inside Track podcast, Scotland captain Andy Robertson is thoughtfully considering his next steps as the 2025โ€“26 season approaches its conclusion.

Sources familiar with the matter indicate that a January departure from Liverpool is improbable, with the defender remaining patient amid ongoing contract negotiations. Although a return to his childhood club Celtic appears unlikely next summer, the possibility of a future move hasnโ€™t been dismissed entirely.

The podcast stated:

โ€œRobertson has been a lifelong Celtic supporter and came through their youth system before moving on to build his career and become Scotlandโ€™s captain. While Celtic would undoubtedly be eager to bring him back, such a move doesnโ€™t appear to be on his immediate agenda.โ€

At the same time, Milos Kerkezโ€™s inconsistent performances since joining from Bournemouth could impact Liverpoolโ€™s stance. Former Manchester United scout Mick Brown suggested that manager Arne Slot may be troubled by the Hungarianโ€™s lack of form.

Should Kerkez fail to progress, Liverpool might opt to retain Robertson and speed up contract negotiations to ensure they donโ€™t lose their seasoned left-back
