Brentford vs Liverpool: Key Trio Returns as Slot Makes Four Changes | Predicted Liverpool XI

Arne Slot looks set to shake up his lineup once again as Liverpool prepare to face Brentford in the Premier League, with several key players expected to return and a few tactical adjustments on the horizon.

After ending a four-match losing streak across all competitions with a resounding 5–1 Champions League victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday, the Reds will look to carry that momentum into tonight’s league clash at the Gtech Community Stadium (20:00 local time). Securing three points is crucial if Liverpool are to keep pace with title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City.

Goalkeeper

With Alisson Becker still not fully recovered, Giorgi Mamardashvili is expected to retain his place between the posts. The Georgian shot-stopper has impressed in recent outings and should continue as Slot’s first-choice keeper for now.

Defence

Injury issues continue to test Liverpool’s back line. Jeremie Frimpong sustained a knock during midweek action, meaning Dominik Szoboszlai could once again fill in at right-back — a role he handled capably in Europe. On the opposite flank, Milos Kerkez may replace Andy Robertson, who could be rested after a busy run of fixtures.

At the heart of defence, Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté are expected to continue their partnership for the ninth Premier League match this season.

Midfield and Attack Adjustments

Slot is reportedly planning significant tweaks in midfield. Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch, both rested during the Champions League win, are tipped to return to the starting XI, forming a double pivot to add balance and control.

Further ahead, Florian Wirtz, fresh off a standout performance with two assists against Frankfurt, should retain his place as the attacking midfielder.

In attack, Mohamed Salah is set for a recall after being benched midweek, likely starting on the right flank. Cody Gakpo, in excellent form with three goals in his last three appearances, should continue on the left.

Leading the line, Hugo Ekitike, who scored against his former club on Wednesday, is expected to spearhead the attack once again.

Predicted Liverpool XI vs Brentford

Mamardashvili; Szoboszlai, Konaté, van Dijk, Kerkez; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Wirtz; Salah, Ekitike, Gakpo.
