Liverpool boss Arne Slot has provided a team news update ahead of their Premier League match against Aston Villa

Arne Slot Offers Injury Update Ahead of Liverpool’s Clash with Aston Villa

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has shared the latest team news ahead of his side’s Premier League meeting with Aston Villa on Saturday.

Slot revealed he is hopeful that Ryan Gravenberch will be available for selection after recovering from an ankle injury. The Dutch midfielder has missed Liverpool’s last three matches since picking up the issue during their 2–1 defeat to Manchester United at Anfield earlier this month.

Ryan has a good chance [of being back for the weekend],” Slot told reporters following the Reds’ 3–0 Carabao Cup loss to Crystal Palace on Wednesday night. “The other ones, let’s wait and see.

Liverpool head into the fixture in poor form, having lost six of their last seven games in all competitions, including their last two Premier League matches. Slot fielded a heavily rotated lineup for the midweek defeat as he looks to manage fitness across the squad.

Meanwhile, Alexander Isak remains a doubt with a groin injury that has ruled him out of recent fixtures.

Aston Villa, managed by Unai Emery, will view the trip to Anfield as a rare opportunity to take points from one of the Premier League’s toughest home venues. Since the start of last season, only Liverpool, Villa, and Arsenal have lost just two league games on home soil — a testament to their strength at home.

Saturday’s clash will be crucial for Slot’s side as they aim to rediscover form and confidence following a difficult run of results.
