Top player” has heart set on Liverpool despite Man Utd & Spurs transfer interest…

The “top player” remains focused on joining Liverpool, despite ongoing interest from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Reports indicate that Liverpool continue to lead the race to sign Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi, whose contract is nearing its end.

The England international has impressed during his time at Selhurst Park but is set to become a free agent when the season concludes.

This has sparked growing competition for his signature, with journalist Graeme Bailey previously telling TBR Football that Manchester United may rival Liverpool for Guehi, especially given how the transfer situation has evolved since the Reds failed to land him last summer.

Some reports have even suggested that Tottenham are currently ahead in the pursuit.

However, according to Indy Kaila, Guehi remains committed to the idea of joining Liverpool.

Marc Guehi transfer: What lies ahead for the “top player”?

Guehi seems an ideal fit for Liverpool right now, particularly as Ibrahima Konate’s contract nears expiration and Virgil van Dijk approaches the latter stages of his career.

At the same time, the 25-year-old would also be a valuable signing for Manchester United, who often deploy a back-three system and are seeking reliable alternatives to Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt, with Lisandro Martinez struggling with recurring injuries.

Former United striker Louis Saha recently told the Manchester Evening News that he admires Guehi and urged his old club to make a serious attempt to sign him before Liverpool does.

“Marc Guehi is absolutely a top player and a leader. I really like his game,” Saha said.

“If Manchester United can outbid Liverpool—even if it costs £20 million more than his market value—they should do it.

“He’s an exceptional defender with great consistency and composure. I also admire his communication on the pitch.

“He’s dependable and destined to play for a major club and compete for top honors in the near future.”
