Man Utd Fans Slam Ruben Amorim’s Big Call After Draw vs Spurs

Manchester United supporters flooded social media with reactions following the Reds’ Premier League meeting with Tottenham Hotspur.

United entered the match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday riding a four-game unbeaten run. They looked strong early on, taking a deserved lead in the 32nd minute through summer arrival Bryan Mbeumo.

In the second half, Spurs pushed hard for a response, and their pressure paid off in the 84th minute when substitute Mathys Tel fired in the equaliser. Deep into stoppage time, Richarlison put Tottenham ahead 2–1, leaving United stunned. But the drama wasn’t over — Matthijs De Ligt rose highest to head home a last-gasp goal, salvaging a 2–2 draw for the visitors.

Despite the late heroics, many United fans were frustrated with one tactical decision made by manager Ruben Amorim: deploying Mbeumo on the left flank.

Supporters were vocal about their dissatisfaction:

One fan wrote: “Amorim cost us this game. Why was Mbeumo still playing on the left?”

Another posted: “Mbeumo on the left, Cunha on the right with Sesko on… I have no idea what Amorim is trying to do.”

A third added: “This is Amorim’s worst outing of the season. Not the team — the manager. Keeping Mbeumo on the left all game was a huge mistake.”

Someone else commented: “I just don’t understand the decision to use Mbeumo on the left.”

Another fan argued: “Why keep Mbeumo on the left when Sesko came on? Cunha was sloppy today. Bringing on Mount or Zirkzee earlier would’ve helped.”

A final supporter said: “Mbeumo won Player of the Month playing on the right. And now he’s stuck on the left when we’re struggling for control? We should’ve exploited Spurs’ defence more. Another missed opportunity.”

The draw sees Spurs climb to third in the Premier League standings, while United sit in seventh.
