Xabi Alonso asks Real Madrid to sign Liverpool & Chelsea stars after UCL defeat at Anfield…

Xabi Alonso Reportedly Pushes Real Madrid Toward Move for Liverpool and Chelsea Midfielders

Rumours in Spain suggest that Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has encouraged the club to target several Premier League midfielders after their Champions League defeat at Anfield.

According to these reports, Alonso has drawn up a four-man shortlist featuring players from Liverpool and Chelsea as he looks to strengthen what is seen as a problematic area in the Madrid squad.

Madrid were beaten 1–0 by Liverpool earlier this week, with Alexis Mac Allister scoring the winning goal and producing one of the standout performances of the match. His display has supposedly pushed him near the top of Alonso’s wish list.

Spanish outlet Fichajes claims Madrid’s interest has moved on from Martin Zubimendi — who joined Arsenal — to four new targets: Mac Allister, Enzo Fernández, Adam Wharton, and Vitinha.

Could Real Madrid Really Tempt Mac Allister Away?

Mac Allister has become a key figure for Liverpool, making any potential move extremely difficult. The Argentine midfielder fits the profile of the type of controlling presence Alonso is said to want, but Liverpool would be reluctant to lose another major talent, especially after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure this summer.

Who Would Be the Best Fit for Real Madrid’s Midfield?

While Fernández, Wharton, and Vitinha are also viewed as players capable of strengthening Madrid’s midfield, each option comes with its own complications.

Data from DataMB suggests that Vitinha is the most inventive passer and creative force among the four, though prying him away from PSG would be far from simple. Wharton, meanwhile, could be a more realistic signing if he decides to pursue a move away from Crystal Palace.

Mac Allister stands out statistically for his defensive reliability, making him the most balanced option for the role Alonso wants to reinforce
