Man United are ready for a transfer blockbuster, willing to spend £105 million to bring Raphinha from Barcelona.

Manchester United ready to launch £105 million bid for South American forward

Manchester United are said to be preparing a formal £105 million proposal to sign Brazilian winger Raphinha from Barcelona as they look to reinforce their frontline for the 2026–27 campaign.

Reports indicate that United’s hierarchy has identified Raphinha as their priority target for the next transfer window. With several attackers — including Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho — no longer in the squad, manager Rúben Amorim is seeking a quick, dynamic wide player to complete his 3-4-2-1 setup at Old Trafford. Raphinha, known for his versatility and explosive pace, fits that requirement perfectly.

The 28-year-old is currently in the best form of his career. Last season, he netted 34 goals and delivered 22 assists across all competitions, playing a crucial role in Barcelona securing a domestic treble. His exceptional performances also earned him a place among the top five nominees for the 2025 Ballon d’Or.

Although he has recently been sidelined with a minor injury, Raphinha remains one of Europe’s most dangerous wide forwards, having already scored 3 goals and made 2 assists in just six La Liga outings this season.

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to spend around £105 million to persuade Barcelona to sell. Despite Raphinha being under contract until 2028, the Catalan side’s ongoing financial concerns may force them to consider an offer of that size. Some sources claim that any bid surpassing £100 million could push Barcelona to seriously evaluate a potential sale.

There are also claims that Raphinha is “very close” to extending his Barcelona deal until 2029, but his future remains uncertain.

From the player’s standpoint, a Premier League return has always been an ambition. He previously shone at Leeds United, displaying energy, creativity, and strong goal-scoring instincts.

However, it is believed that Raphinha would only consider leaving Barcelona if Manchester United qualify for the Champions League — a key factor in his decision-making.

Under Amorim, United are in the midst of a squad overhaul, with additions like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo already injecting fresh attacking energy. Still, to reclaim a top-four spot and challenge for trophies, the club needs a world-class difference-maker.

If Raphinha’s transfer is completed, he would become one of the most expensive signings in United’s history — a statement move symbolizing the club’s renewed ambition to reestablish themselves as a dominant force in European football.
