TRANSFER BOMBSHELL! Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has publicly admitted his frustration with Arne Slot’s tactics, claiming he feels stalled in his development at the current club.

Ryan Gravenberch sent shockwaves through the football world on Wednesday after telling Dutch outlet Voetbal International that he feels “trapped in a system that doesn’t allow me to play my game” under Liverpool manager Arne Slot. The 23-year-old, signed for £34m in 2023, went on to say he has “stopped developing” and needs a fresh opportunity — even revealing that he personally halted advanced £44m negotiations with Barcelona last week because “the timing wasn’t right.”

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick continues to push for a new defensive midfielder after losing control of key battles in La Liga. Sources within the club say Gravenberch perfectly fits the profile they want: physically strong, progressive on the ball, and capable of covering huge areas. The Catalans are now preparing a renewed January approach worth around £55m. Liverpool, however, maintain internally that Gravenberch is untouchable.

What shocked fans and pundits most was Gravenberch’s final warning: “If nothing changes by summer, I’ll force an exit; I’m too young to just sit on the bench.” His public criticism has reportedly infuriated Slot and created tension around Anfield, with supporters torn between frustration at his comments and concern about potentially losing a talented young midfielder.
