Atletico Madrid have named their price for Conor Gallagher amid links with Manchester United.
After spending 18 years at his boyhood club, Conor Gallagher left Chelsea in August 2024 to join Atletico Madrid in a deal worth around £34 million, with Joao Felix moving to Stamford Bridge as part of the arrangement.
Since arriving in Spain, the England midfielder has made 69 appearances under Diego Simeone, contributing six goals and six assists. However, speculation is growing that Gallagher could be set for another move, with Manchester United among the Premier League clubs monitoring his situation.
And now, the expected price United would need to pay has reportedly been revealed.
With the January transfer window approaching, United are exploring options to strengthen their midfield. The club even considered a late move for Gallagher at the end of the summer window, but Atletico rejected the idea of a loan.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Atletico may now be open to selling — and a fee of around £26 million could be enough.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano explained:
“There is a chance Conor Gallagher could leave Atletico Madrid in January, or in the summer. United were interested in late August but Atletico didn’t want a loan. A permanent offer around €30m (£26m) could change the situation.”
United fans divided on Gallagher interest
Gallagher has struggled for minutes this season, starting only three matches for Atletico. As a result, United supporters are split on whether he would be a good addition.
Popular fan voice Mark Goldbridge argued:
“We need a midfielder in January. If Gallagher goes to Palace or Spurs and we sign nobody, that’s a joke. Ideally a loan, but if it’s between no midfielder or £26m for Gallagher, I’d spend the £26m.”
Others aren’t convinced, with one fan commenting:
“Unless Bruno and Casemiro both have broken legs, he’s not getting into the team.”
Another added:
“I’d rather wait until the summer than spend that on Gallagher… if it’s a loan, fine.”
