Liverpool XI vs. Leeds: Latest Team News and Probable Lineup
Mohamed Salah is expected to return to Liverpool’s starting eleven for their trip to Elland Road, while Conor Bradley is also in contention, and Hugo Ekitike is set to lead the front line.
Salah is ready to reclaim his spot in the starting squad as Liverpool take on Leeds United this Saturday. The Reds aim to bounce back and extend their unbeaten run as they travel to Elland Road for the evening kickoff.
Arne Slot has received several positive updates ahead of the match. Conor Bradley is anticipated to be available after recovering from a muscle injury that has kept him out since the international break.
Giovanni Leoni (knee) and Jeremie Frimpong (hamstring) are the only players currently undergoing treatment, with Leoni having already been ruled out for the rest of the season.
In his pre-match conference, Slot confirmed Bradley’s progress and noted that Joe Gomez—who recently suffered a minor knock—should also be fit.
Slot explained, “I expect him to train today and be ready for the squad tomorrow. Joe Gomez picked up a knock in the West Ham match but still managed to start. He didn’t finish the full 90 minutes, but I believe he’ll be able to train today. Yesterday was mostly recovery work, and we’ll reassess during today’s session.”
Reporters also questioned Slot about his recent decisions to leave out Mohamed Salah and Federico Chiesa. He replied, “Everyone is in consideration because of the level of talent we have. Mo has been fantastic for us and is always on my mind, whether starting or coming off the bench. We simply have many options in his position. He’s made a real difference several times as a substitute.”
Slot added that while attackers are usually brought on to score, Salah’s relentless effort—such as his stoppage-time run against Sunderland—shows his continued value to the team.
Alisson Becker will remain in goal, with Liverpool sticking to a 4-3-3 system. The back line should feature Joe Gomez, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, and Andy Robertson, placing Bradley on the bench.
The midfield trio is expected to include Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, and Ryan Gravenberch. In attack, Salah is likely to start ahead of Cody Gakpo, joining Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak. Gakpo, Chiesa, and Ekitike would therefore serve as substitutes.
Predicted Liverpool Starting XI:
Alisson; Gomez, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson; Szoboszlai, Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Ekitike, Wirtz
