Liverpool’s confirmed lineup against Inter Milan features a 4-3-3 setup, with Rio Ngumoha, Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Alexis Mac Allister all included from the start. Federico Chiesa and Mohamed Salah will not take part in tonight’s away fixture, and Cody Gakpo is also unavailable.

Liverpool XI vs Inter Milan: confirmed team, squad updates, and injury news ahead of today’s Champions League clash

Starting XI vs Inter: Alisson; Gomez, Van Dijk, Konaté; Szoboszlai, Isak, Mac Allister; Jones, Ekitike, Robertson, Gravenberch.
Bench: Mamardashvili, Woodman, Kerkez, Wirtz, Bradley, Nyoni, Ngumoha, Lucky.

Head coach Arne Slot has left Mohamed Salah out of the squad entirely, while Cody Gakpo has not traveled to the San Siro either.

Liverpool will therefore face Inter Milan in their Champions League matchup without Salah.

The decision comes after Sunday’s dramatic 3–3 draw with Leeds, marking the third straight Premier League match in which Salah started on the bench. The Egyptian forward added fuel to speculation afterward with a pointed interview, suggesting he might leave in January, arguing he has been unfairly targeted for the team’s struggles and revealing that his relationship with Slot has become strained.

Despite taking part in Monday’s training session, Salah was not included in the group that flew to Milan for the sixth game of this season’s league phase.

With him missing, Szoboszlai is expected to start on the right flank, with Wirtz operating in his preferred No. 10 role.

Liverpool will also have to adjust on the left, as Gakpo stayed behind after missing Monday’s training session. Federico Chiesa and Wataru Endo were absent as well, with Chiesa reportedly dealing with illness. Gakpo is set for a lengthy spell out following an injury sustained against Leeds, though Slot suggested Chiesa could still join the squad on Tuesday.

Salah’s participation in Monday’s training has sparked new discussion, even though he is not expected to feature in the starting lineup. His recent absences have already affected Liverpool’s attacking rhythm, and Slot appears likely to continue with Szoboszlai on the right and Wirtz as the central creator.

Although Salah trained, the club is being cautious with him, determined to avoid further complications with a busy winter schedule looming across both domestic and European competitions.

Defensively, Slot may reintroduce Joe Gomez at right-back in place of Conor Bradley, who recently returned from injury. On the left, Andy Robertson could come in for Milos Kerkez.
