LiverpoolBREAKING NEWS ‼️Mo Salah to Saudi Arabia? Liverpool forward wanted by Saudi Pro League clubs amid uncertainty over future

Saudi Clubs Monitor Salah After Shock Interview—Uncertainty Grows at Liverpool

Saudi Pro League sides have renewed their interest in signing Mohamed Salah after the Liverpool star’s explosive interview on Saturday, which has cast major doubt over his future at the club. Head coach Arne Slot admitted he has “no idea” whether the 33-year-old has already played his final match for Liverpool, especially after being excluded from Tuesday’s Champions League win over Inter Milan.

Despite the growing speculation, Liverpool have not received any formal approaches. While teams such as Al Ittihad and Al Hilal have attempted to lure Salah over the past two years, the forward has never definitively signaled a willingness to leave elite European football for the SPL.

Although Saudi clubs have shifted their recruitment toward younger talent, an exception would always be made for Salah, given his global profile. Al Ittihad famously submitted a £150m verbal offer in September 2023, but the proposal arrived too late in the window to be considered seriously.

Earlier this year, before signing his new contract, Salah had explored potential free-transfer options within both the Premier League and Europe. That openness suggests he may still believe he has unfinished business in European football and that a move to Saudi Arabia may not be imminent.

However, his public outburst after being left on the bench in the 3-3 draw at Leeds has dramatically changed the situation. Speaking at Elland Road, Salah accused the club of breaking promises and claimed he was being made a scapegoat.

“I’ve done so much for this club, especially last season, and now I’m on the bench with no explanation,” he said. “It feels like I’ve been thrown under the bus. Someone clearly wants me to take the blame. I used to have a good relationship with the manager, but suddenly that’s gone.”

Following those comments—criticized heavily by Sky Sports’ Jamie Carragher, who called the interview “a disgrace”—Liverpool left Salah out of the traveling squad for the Inter Milan match. While the club has not taken disciplinary action, it remains unclear whether he will play against Brighton this weekend.

Carragher suggested Salah’s remarks were deliberate, claiming the forward may have waited for a poor result to maximize the impact of his criticism and potentially undermine Slot.

Salah remains an ideal target for the Saudi Pro League. His representatives maintain strong ties with senior Saudi football authorities, and many insiders believe it is only a matter of time before he makes the move—though only when he feels ready. Any transfer would involve the Public Investment Fund and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sport, both of which are now reluctant to offer European-level wages unless absolutely necessary.

For now, Liverpool supporters and analysts alike are left wondering: Has Mohamed Salah already played his final game for the club?
