Man Utd Tipped to Make Mo Salah Offer as Outrageous Liverpool Transfer Touted

Manchester United have been tipped to make a ‘public’ offer to Liverpool for Mohamed Salah amid his saga with coach Arne Slot.

Mohamed Salah was left out of the squad for the clash with Inter Milan following his explosive interview, as Liverpool managed a 1–0 Champions League victory without their star forward.

After the match, Jamie Carragher issued an apology to Salah live on CBS Sports, walking back his earlier description of the Egyptian as a “disgrace” during Monday Night Football.

Unsurprisingly, manager Arne Slot faced questions about Salah after the hard-earned win at the San Siro, with Clarence Seedorf pressing him on the situation during Amazon Prime’s coverage.

Whether Salah will return to the lineup when Liverpool resume Premier League action on Saturday against Brighton is still uncertain.

If he does not feature in that game, it is possible he has already played his final match for the Reds, as the 33-year-old is due to join Egypt for the Africa Cup of Nations on December 15.

Speculation has also surfaced about a potential January departure, with Saudi Arabian clubs again linked to a move for the forward.

Surprisingly, Manchester United have even been mentioned as a possible destination — a rumour that would stun the football world if it ever came close to reality.

During an episode of Rio Ferdinand Presents, Ste Howson asked Ferdinand whether United should attempt to sign Salah.

Ferdinand dismissed the idea of Salah joining United, though joked that he would still make a public bid.

Howson: “Do United sign him?”
Ferdinand: “No chance… Mo Salah doesn’t go to Man United.”
Howson: “Depends how angry he is.”
Ferdinand: “He’s not got that Wazza streak… not that Rooney trait.”
Howson: “But if you’re United, do you poke the bear?”
Ferdinand: “Yeah, I’d put in an offer… and make it public.”
Howson: “I’d do it just for the riot it’d cause.”

Their exchange was clearly tongue-in-cheek.

In reality, Salah moving to Manchester United is virtually impossible, given his iconic status at Liverpool and the fact that he doesn’t neatly fit into Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 setup.

Salah has scored a remarkable 250 goals in 420 matches so far in his career, but this season has been challenging — he has managed only five goals in all competitions compared to the 34 he netted last campaign.
