Man Utd make £12.6m ‘offer’ for Amorim’s first signing as Gyokeres snubs Old Trafford move

**Manchester United Target Andreas Christensen as Ruben Amorim’s First Signing**

Reports suggest that Manchester United have made a €15m (£12.6m) offer for Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen as the club seeks to bolster its defense under new manager Ruben Amorim. The Red Devils, who have struggled to regain their former dominance in the Premier League since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement, are looking to turn a new page with Amorim, the Sporting Lisbon boss.

After a challenging start to the season, Erik ten Hag was dismissed following a string of disappointing results, with Man Utd now hoping Amorim can steer them back to title contention. Despite a recent 1-1 draw with Chelsea, United fans remain optimistic that under new leadership, the club can challenge for the Premier League crown again in the near future.

Amorim, known for his tactical acumen at Sporting Lisbon, is reportedly keen to strengthen United’s defense in the upcoming winter transfer window. His priority target is Christensen, who has struggled for game time at Barcelona this season. The Denmark international, who has made only one substitute appearance for Barca, could be on the move, with a €15m offer from United potentially appealing to Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco. With the imminent return of defenders Ronald Araujo and Eric Garcia, Christensen’s position at the Camp Nou appears uncertain, and the proposed transfer could offer Barcelona both financial relief and the flexibility to reinforce other areas of their squad.

In addition to Christensen, United have also been linked with Viktor Gyokeres and other Sporting Lisbon players, though Gyokeres has reportedly expressed reluctance to follow Amorim to Old Trafford. According to Portuguese outlet *Record*, Gyokeres is wary of joining a club he perceives as “disorganised” and “unstable.” Nevertheless, United are still expected to pursue the Swedish striker, as they aim to strengthen their attacking options and improve their chances of challenging for the Premier League title.
