‘I can’t wait’ – Arne Slot delivers positive Alexander-Arnold update amid Real Madrid rumours

Liverpool fans are keenly aware of three significant contract issues that need to be resolved soon, an area Arne Slot has already commented on.

When asked about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future at Liverpool, the Dutchman told The Athletic, “We didn’t discuss his commitment; we only talked about how I want him to play and how he fits into that style.”

“He was primarily focused on the Euros when we spoke, and recently I’ve seen clips showing that he looks very fit and sharp. I’m looking forward to seeing him in training.”

It’s reassuring to know that the new head coach has spoken with the Scouser, which is expected given his role as the club’s vice-captain.

Now that our No. 66 is back in training, it’s likely that discussions about our immediate future have already taken place.

Regarding a contract, these remarks suggest that the coach is not overly worried about losing a key player this summer.

Seeing Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez seemingly joke about the possibility of the academy graduate moving to Real Madrid should help ease some of the speculation.

Hopefully, we can soon resolve the 25-year-old’s long-term future, as there are also concerns about Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah.

Given that a flurry of transfer activity this summer seems unlikely, it would be beneficial to see Richard Hughes work on securing the services of some of our key players.
