Bayern Munich has joined the list of clubs interested in signing Fermín López, whose future at Barcelona is now uncertain. After a strong season where he finished second on the team’s scoring chart, behind only Robert Lewandowski, López has seen his role diminish this season under new coach Hansi Flick. Despite Flick’s initial plans to keep him, López’s position in the squad now appears to be more peripheral, likely limited to substitute appearances or tactical rotations.
The arrival of Dani Olmo at Barcelona, along with the return of Pedri González and the emergence of Marc Casado, has further reduced López’s chances of starting. Although he recently extended his contract until 2029, speculation about his departure continues, with top clubs like Aston Villa, Manchester United, and now Bayern Munich expressing interest.
Meanwhile, Manchester City manager Vincent Kompany is reportedly eager to sign López and is considering a potential swap deal with Bayern Munich that could involve Kingsley Coman. The French winger, who has struggled for consistent minutes under Flick, might be offered to Barcelona as part of the deal for López. Coman’s role at Bayern has been limited since the summer arrival of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace, and he could now be involved in this proposed exchange.
Flick is reportedly open to the idea of swapping López for Coman, believing Bayern needs a new winger to bolster their attack. If the deal proceeds, both clubs could strike a mutually beneficial agreement in the upcoming winter transfer window.
