Two Real Madrid players ruthlessly booed every time they touch the ball vs Liverpool and fans now know why

Two Real Madrid players have been incessantly booed during the first half of their side’s Champions League clash against Liverpool at Anfield – and fans have worked out exactly why.

A depleted Real Madrid squad traveled to England without several key players, such as Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, and Daniel Carvajal, due to various injuries.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti has been forced to rely on a young bench, with 21-year-old Raul Asencio making his first Champions League start.

Both Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham started for Real Madrid at Anfield but were met with boos from Liverpool fans during the first half.

The reason behind the boos wasn’t immediately clear, as neither player has any connection to Liverpool or has historically performed poorly against them.

However, many fans believe the boos stem from the fact that neither player chose to sign with Liverpool over Real Madrid.

One fan commented, “Liverpool fans booing Bellingham and Mbappe because they didn’t sign for them, deary me.”

Another added, “Liverpool fans think they had a chance to sign Mbappe or Bellingham.”

A third fan remarked, “Liverpool fans booing Bellingham and Mbappe because they couldn’t afford them.”

One fan offered a different explanation, suggesting, “They’re booing Bellingham because he might be one of the reasons Trent moves to Real (they’re close friends).”

Real Madrid entered the match with six points from their four Champions League group stage games this season.

In contrast, Liverpool were perfect with four wins from four, having conceded only one goal in the process.

The Reds haven’t beaten Real Madrid since their 4-0 victory in the 2008/09 Champions League round of 16, and Jurgen Klopp’s side will be hoping to end that drought against the reigning champions tonight.
