Liverpool suffer another major injury blow ahead of Man City clash with SIX players set to miss game

Liverpool have been handed another injury setback hours before facing Manchester City in the Premier League.

Defending champions Manchester City will visit Anfield on Sunday afternoon and need to avoid defeat to stay realistically in the title race.

Pep Guardiola’s team is already eight points behind Liverpool following a series of disappointing results recently.

City has gone six matches without a win, most recently drawing 3-3 with Feyenoord, after squandering a three-goal lead, in a Champions League match on Tuesday.

Liverpool, meanwhile, will be missing several key players for this crucial fixture and have suffered another setback, as Conor Bradley is expected to be out until 2025.

Bradley picked up a hamstring injury during his strong performance against Real Madrid on Wednesday, helping Liverpool secure a 2-0 victory over the reigning European champions.

According to the Belfast Telegraph, Bradley will be sidelined for at least six weeks, meaning he will miss Liverpool’s entire December fixture list, including matches against Everton, Spurs, and potentially the clash with Manchester United on January 5.

On a positive note for Liverpool, Trent Alexander-Arnold has recovered from his own hamstring issue and is likely to feature against City.

However, Ibrahima Konate will miss the game after injuring his knee against Madrid, adding another blow for the home side.

The French defender shared on Instagram earlier this week that he faces a lengthy recovery.

“So frustrating to pick up this injury right at the end of a great game on Wednesday night,” he wrote. “Now we start the recovery process, but one thing I promise is that I will come back and be the best I can be once again.

“Thank you for the amazing support at Anfield. Inshallah we will keep going, and I will support the team every step of the way.”

Liverpool remain without Diogo Jota (chest) and Alisson (hamstring), and Kostas Tsimikas is also unavailable due to an ankle injury.

Federico Chiesa is also expected to miss out as he continues to work on regaining full fitness.

On the other hand, Manchester City are facing their own injury issues, with midfield star Rodri out for most of the season due to an ACL injury.

Mateo Kovacic is also likely to miss the match after picking up an injury while on international duty with Croatia earlier this month, and there are concerns about John Stones and Jeremy Doku’s fitness.

Oscar Bobb is not expected to play either, as he continues his recovery from a fractured leg.

In other news, Sky Sports is offering a special Black Friday deal, allowing you to get the service for just £10 a month when added to a basic package. The offer is part of the cheapest subscription price available, but it’s set to end soon.
