Spanish club Sevilla is extending an offer to rescue Barcelona’s outcast in the upcoming winter transfer window, aiming to bolster its attack for the second half of the season.
The Barcelona player has struggled with limited playing time under Hansi Flick, who has excluded him from his plans this season, pushing him toward seeking a move for more opportunities.
According to Catalan newspaper Sport, Sevilla is targeting Ansu Fati, who has faced difficulties proving his worth in Flick’s squad this season. Sevilla sees Fati as a more viable option compared to signing Ferran Jutgla, the former Barcelona player currently impressing at Belgian club Brugge, whose rising market value may complicate a deal.
Sevilla has already made contact with Fati and his representatives to discuss a potential move to Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, though some obstacles remain. Sport reported that Fati’s high salary and his history of frequent injuries are hurdles to finalizing the deal. Currently sidelined with a muscle injury, Fati is expected to return to action in mid-December.
