Mo Salah’s future takes new twist as bombshell report reveals first club have ‘opened talks’ to sign Liverpool star

Mo Salah’s future appears to have taken a new twist after reports claimed the Liverpool star is already in talks over joining a new club.

Salah’s contract expires at the end of the season, and he created a stir just over a week ago when, after Liverpool’s victory at Southampton, he unexpectedly stopped to speak with the press, revealing he had not yet received an offer from the club.

This raised concerns among Liverpool fans, especially as Salah hinted that he is “probably more out than in,” with the Egyptian star set to be able to negotiate with foreign clubs in January ahead of a potential free transfer in the summer.

However, following his goal and assist in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Manchester City, which saw them extend their lead at the top of the table to nine points, new details about his situation have emerged.

According to L’Equipe, via Get Football News France, Salah is in discussions with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a free transfer.

Salah has been frequently linked to the Ligue 1 side, and reports suggest he is now in talks with them, with sources indicating that the Egyptian captain is open to the idea of moving to the French capital.

A source told the outlet that “there is now a good chance” Salah will be playing at the Parc des Princes next season.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is eager to strengthen their squad with a top wide player and had previously shown interest in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Jadon Sancho, and Nico Williams during the summer.

With the departures of Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Kylian Mbappe in recent times, the club is in a position to meet Salah’s wage demands without any issues.

Reports suggest that Salah and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi have a strong relationship, and the club believes this is the perfect opportunity to sign the former Chelsea player.

In response, PSG has denied the report from L’Equipe, arguing that it is likely a negotiation tactic by Salah to secure a better deal with Liverpool.

While the Saudi Pro League has been mentioned as a potential destination for Salah, no clubs are currently pursuing him.

The 32-year-old showed no signs of slowing down with a Man of the Match performance against Manchester City on Sunday, and even took a jab at Jamie Carragher after the pundit’s recent criticism regarding his public stance on his contract.

When Virgil Van Dijk expressed surprise that Jamie Carragher wouldn’t award Mo Salah the Man of the Match, Salah responded, saying, “Ah no, he [Carragher] wouldn’t give it to me. Never. He wouldn’t! I don’t want to talk about this!”

Carragher then made a playful reference to Roy Keane’s confrontation with an Ipswich Town fan, joking that he would meet Salah “in the car park.”

Liverpool will be back in action on Wednesday, facing Newcastle at St James’ Park in the Premier League.
