Liverpool’s target declines move to Anfield, as Arne Slot’s transfer difficulties persist.

Liverpool has been relatively inactive in the summer transfer window, but as the Premier League season approaches, they are starting to take steps to bolster their squad.

Despite Arne Slot not having made any new signings since taking over from Jurgen Klopp, he is anticipated to add to the squad before the transfer window closes.

Liverpool is actively pursuing a new midfielder, as evidenced by their interest in Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.

Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that Liverpool had shown interest in Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier. However, Beier has rejected the move to Anfield, opting instead to remain in Germany with Borussia Dortmund.

Beier is currently in discussions with Dortmund, and the club is expected to begin negotiations with Hoffenheim to secure the 21-year-old forward.

According to the journalist, Liverpool were in discussions with the player, but he has turned down the chance to join them and has chosen to sign with Borussia Dortmund instead.

This represents a significant setback for the Merseyside club and their transfer aspirations, as they are still waiting for their first summer signing.

Fans have expressed disappointment with the club’s inactivity in the transfer window, especially as rivals have bolstered their squads with new additions.

Given that the team, which finished third in the league last season, struggled in both attack and defense towards the end of the season, they urgently need new signings. With only three weeks remaining in the transfer window, prompt action is essential.
