Mo Salah is undoubtedly one of the finest footballers to ever play in England.
The Egyptian forward scored twice and provided an assist, helping fuel Liverpoolâs push for a crucial three points at St Jamesâ Park on Wednesday.
Unfortunately, the victory slipped away due to a series of late mistakes, culminating in Fabian Scharâs equalizer in the dying moments of regular time.
Itâs a shame, then, that the focus couldnât be rightfully placed on No. 11 for his exceptional performance in the second half.
However, Liverpoolâs management can take comfort in knowing they are closely monitoring their star playerâs continued brilliance on the wing.
Is Mo Salahâs contract finished?
According to a report from Egyptian analyst Haytham Farouk of BeINSports, it seems fan hopes may have been fulfilled. Farouk recently claimed on X (formerly Twitter) that Mo Salah has renewed his contract with Liverpool FC.
A translated version of his tweet reads: âCongratulations on renewing your contract with the number you like and the period you want. The Egyptian king rules with his own judgments.â
Salahâs current deal was originally set to expire in the summer of 2025, with reports from The Athletic suggesting that the forward was open to signing a one-year extension.
While Faroukâs claim is yet to be confirmed, itâs wise for fans to stay cautious until thereâs official verification. That being said, Salah certainly deserves fresh terms, given his extraordinary form.
Even at 32 years old, Salah’s numbers remain exceptional. He ranks in the 99th percentile for xG and xAG (based on his last 3,175 minutes of club football), as reported by FBref.
These stats are reflected in his impressive tally of 27 goal contributions in 21 games (averaging one goal or assist every 63.07 minutes).
While we might not be able to âgive him whatever he wants,â there should definitely be flexibility to ensure the continued presence of a player whom Henry Winter has rightly called âsensational.â
