Manchester United is reportedly considering Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak as a potential replacement for Marcus Rashford as part of a squad overhaul under new manager Ruben Amorim. Since taking charge in November, Amorim has identified several team weaknesses, with a lack of consistent goal-scoring being a major issue.
According to Football Insider (via Football FanCast), the Red Devils have shown interest in Isak due to his strong performances for Newcastle this season. The 25-year-old Swedish striker has netted seven goals and provided three assists in just 15 appearances, showcasing his goal-scoring ability.
Isak is being viewed as a potential successor to Rashford, should the latter leave Old Trafford. While Rashford typically plays as a left winger, Isak is expected to operate as a central striker in Amorim’s system, providing a new attacking focal point.
However, United face competition, with Chelsea and Arsenal also reportedly eyeing Isak. The forward’s price could reach £115 million, reflecting the high esteem in which he is held and his potential to make a significant impact at whichever club secures him.
