Liverpool currently lead the Premier League table and are gearing up to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window.
Their recent 6-3 triumph over Tottenham solidified their position as title favorites this season. Under Arne Slot’s guidance, Liverpool have showcased extraordinary form and consistency—surpassing even the high standards set during Jürgen Klopp’s tenure.
To maintain their title challenge, reinforcements are essential. The left-back position, in particular, needs attention, as Andy Robertson has struggled for form, and Kostas Tsimikas has dealt with fitness issues.
Reports indicate that Fulham’s Antonee Robinson has emerged as Liverpool’s primary target for this role. Club legend Jamie Carragher, analyzing Robinson’s standout display during Fulham’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool, praised the defender on Sky Sports:
“He was outstanding, the best player on the pitch. To come to Anfield, face someone like Mo Salah—arguably the league’s best player this season—and earn a Man of the Match award speaks volumes. I believe Liverpool will prioritize a left-back in January, and he’ll be at the top of their list.”
Renowned for his defensive strength and attacking prowess, Robinson could bring the quality and depth Liverpool need in defense. However, securing his transfer may be difficult, as Fulham are unlikely to part with one of their key players midseason. Even so, the prospect of competing for a Premier League title might persuade the USA international to consider the move.
Additionally, Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies has also been linked as another potential left-back option for Liverpool.
