Man Utd drop major transfer hint in latest announcement on club website

Manchester United may have dropped a hint about the future of a player linked with a move away from the club.

United have been active in the summer transfer window in preparation for the 2024/25 Premier League season. French center-back Leny Yoro has joined from Lille, while Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee has moved from Serie A club Bologna.

Several players have been rumored to be leaving Old Trafford, but a recent social media post might have provided a clue about the future of one of them.

In the past two weeks, both Everton and Fulham are said to have expressed interest in signing Scott McTominay this summer.

In response, Manchester United have featured McTominay in several Instagram posts promoting their new third kit.

The 27-year-old posted the photos on his Instagram account, hinting that he might remain with the club.

However, if McTominay does leave, Fulham seems the most probable destination, having already made two offers for the midfielder.

The latest offer, estimated at around £20m, was turned down because United are reportedly seeking at least £25m following McTominay’s strong performance during the preseason tour in the USA.

Following the friendly match against Rangers in July, United manager Erik ten Hag praised McTominay highly.

He stated: “We have excellent players, so other clubs will naturally show interest. Scoring 10 goals in a season and performing well for Scotland will attract attention.

“We want to retain him because he is a crucial player for our team. We observed his contributions last season. When he played in a more advanced role, he proved to be very valuable for us.”

Reports suggest that in addition to Premier League interest, Italian club Napoli and several Turkish clubs are also keen on signing McTominay.

He would join Raphael Varane, Mason Greenwood, and Donny van de Beek, who have all left United for a total of €26.5 million.
