Yamal and Gavi demand that Flick exclude Barcelona star from the starting lineup in the Spanish Super Cup final

Barcelona defeated Athletic Bilbao 2-0 to secure their spot in the Spanish Super Cup final in Saudi Arabia. They will now face the winner of the upcoming match between Real Madrid and Real Mallorca, which will be decided after their encounter on Thursday evening.

According to Spanish newspaper El Nacional, Barcelona players Lamine Yamal and Gavi have made a notable request ahead of the likely final against Real Madrid. They have urged coach Julian Nagelsmann to leave Polish striker Robert Lewandowski out of the starting lineup for the final due to his underwhelming performances. The two Catalan players feel that Barcelona’s chances of winning the title would be significantly weakened if Lewandowski starts the match. The report also highlighted that some of Lewandowski’s teammates share this view, as his current form has seen him miss even the simplest scoring opportunities, a situation that could prove detrimental against Real Madrid.
