After the stumble against Getafe… Laporta gets angry at Hansi Flick and the Barcelona duo

Barcelona settled for a 1-1 draw against Getafe in the Spanish League, leaving them with 39 points and third in the standings, while Getafe sits in sixteenth with 20 points. Barcelona will face Valencia at Los Cónpanys Stadium on January 26, while Getafe will play at Sociedad Stadium on the same day.

Barcelona’s form continues to falter in La Liga, with just one win in their last eight matches—a disastrous record that undermines their title aspirations. According to El Nacional, coach Hansi Flick is furious about the ongoing setbacks and the loss of points. He reportedly scolded Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha for squandering several easy opportunities to secure the win against Getafe. Flick warned them that continued poor performances would see them dropped from the starting lineup, stating, “Continuing at this level in La Liga will make us struggle for a Champions League qualifying position.”

Flick also decided to exclude Alejandro Balde from the team due to his poor performances this season and is pushing for a new left-back before the winter transfer window closes to salvage the team’s season.

Additionally, after the match, Barcelona president Joan Laporta visited the locker room and expressed his anger at both the players and Flick, demanding better results. Laporta also expressed his frustration with Lewandowski, criticizing the forward’s missed chances and suggesting that his advanced age has become a liability. Laporta was particularly vocal about Raphinha’s performance, telling sporting director Deco, “It seems that he wanted to remind us of his disastrous performance in the past years. What a disgusting level.”

The situation at Barcelona continues to be tense, with the team’s performances and player choices under intense scrutiny.
