BREAKING NEWS: Liverpool want to bring big money star player at Anfield for Arne Slot. The news has been confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

Liverpool has reportedly sent scouts to observe a highly-rated winger from the Bundesliga, according to a trusted source.

Earlier this month, Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Reds are interested in Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, a player also on Chelsea’s radar. Both Premier League clubs are keen on bringing the England Under-21 star back to English football.

Providing an update on the 20-year-old, Romano shared on X that Chelsea made a formal inquiry about Bynoe-Gittens last week, while Liverpool has been closely monitoring his performances throughout the season. Despite the interest, Dortmund are expected to keep the winger through the January transfer window. Romano noted: “Chelsea made a formal inquiry for Jamie Bynoe-Gittens last week, while Liverpool also sent their scouts several times to follow his progress this season. Borussia Dortmund expect JBG to stay in January; meanwhile, top English clubs have started to make their moves.”

What Could Bynoe-Gittens Bring to Liverpool?

Despite Borussia Dortmund’s struggles in the Bundesliga—evidenced by their recent third consecutive defeat, leaving them 10th in the league—Bynoe-Gittens has been one of their standout players. The winger has scored 11 goals in 26 appearances this season, providing a bright spot in a difficult campaign for the German club.

German tabloid Bild called him a ‘goldjunge’ (golden boy) after his impressive performance against Bayern Munich in late November. His coach, former Liverpool midfielder Nuri Sahin, praised Bynoe-Gittens’ one-on-one skills and described him as “a very good finisher” (Bundesliga.com).

A player profile in The Athletic highlighted his potential, mentioning his “beguiling skill, two-footed finishing, and blazing speed” as standout traits.

However, if Liverpool signs Bynoe-Gittens, he may face tough competition for playing time on the left wing. Cody Gakpo has often been used in that position, with Luis Díaz sometimes played as a central striker. Díaz’s inconsistent performances could open the door for experimentation, but the left-wing position remains competitive.

While Liverpool may have other priorities for strengthening their squad in the transfer market, Bynoe-Gittens’ talent justifies the multiple scouting trips. If he stays at Dortmund beyond January, he will likely remain a prominent name in transfer rumors throughout 2025.
