BARCELONAXabi Alonso Gives Barça the Money for Marcus Rashford

Bayer Leverkusen could play a crucial role in helping Marcus Rashford make his move to FC Barcelona.

Though the potential signing of Rashford appeared complicated recently, the operation might soon be back on track. In an unexpected twist, Barcelona could find a solution through former Madrid player Xabi Alonso. Bayer Leverkusen is reportedly preparing a significant amount of money to sign Mika Faye, a young center-back Barcelona sold to French club Troyes for 12 million euros a few months ago. Although Faye no longer belongs to Barça, the Catalan club still stands to benefit from a future sale.

As part of the deal, Barcelona secured 25% of any future transfer fee for Faye. If Bayer Leverkusen completes the move, this could provide Barcelona with a substantial amount of money, potentially helping to fund a deal for Rashford, who is currently not getting the playing time he expected in France and could push for a move.

At just 20 years old, Mika Faye could be on the move again, with Bayer Leverkusen under Xabi Alonso reportedly interested in signing him. This potential move appeals to Faye and could also benefit Barcelona, which remains alert to the situation. With other potential deals, like those involving Mingueza and Trincão, falling through, the Senegalese defender’s departure could provide Barcelona with a significant financial boost.

Regarding Marcus Rashford, his demands to join Barcelona are clear. Hansi Flick is eager to bring Rashford to Barcelona, as he would offer the competition needed for Raphinha and Ansu Fati. Flick hopes to rotate the three attackers for a balanced approach throughout the season. Deco also shares Flick’s enthusiasm, recognizing Rashford’s qualities, which align well with Lamine Yamal’s style, especially his speed and ball control.

However, Rashford has set conditions before making the move. He wants assurance that he will play regularly at Barcelona and not just sit on the bench. The winter transfer window closes on February 3, and Rashford wants confirmation of his registration before the deadline to avoid a repeat of situations like Dani Olmo’s. Deco has asked for patience, but Rashford is eager for clarity and demands an answer by next Monday, one week before the window shuts, so he can consider other options if needed.
