Real Madrid continues to lead the La Liga standings with 49 points, holding a 7-point advantage over their arch-rivals, Barcelona, who are in third place.
Many former players who left Real Madrid have expressed regret about their decision, with many admitting that, given the chance, they would have stayed longer at the Bernabéu. One such player is French star Karim Benzema, now playing for Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia. Benzema, widely regarded as one of the club’s greatest legends, spent over a decade at Real Madrid, winning numerous titles and earning the admiration of fans.
In recent comments that caught the attention of the club’s supporters, Benzema expressed a desire to return to the club in the future. When asked about the possibility of playing again for Real Madrid, he said, “To return and play in front of the Real Madrid fans at the Bernabéu? Why not, yes, I hope that happens one day.”
He also added, “I would love that, but honestly, we need to ask Florentino Pérez because he’s the one responsible for everything.” According to Spanish newspaper El Nacional, if Pérez were to allow any player who left Real Madrid to come back, it would be Benzema.
