The victory in the European Super Cup final against Atalanta provides crucial insights for the Santiago Bernabéu dressing room, which will influence the final composition of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad as the transfer window closes. While Florentino Pérez and the executives currently have no plans for additional signings, Real Madrid’s exit door remains open, potentially leading to new moves.

According to Spanish newspaper Defensa Central, Real Madrid is expected to make a decisive decision about Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin’s future following the Super Cup final.

Carlo Ancelotti relies on Thibaut Courtois to guard Real Madrid’s goal, which complicates Andriy Lunin’s chances of returning to the starting lineup. This situation could push Lunin away from the club, as Jorge Mendes continues to search for a new team for him without success. Courtois’ impressive

performance in the European Super Cup has led Lunin to reassess his future with Real Madrid, as his expectations do not align with the current sporting reality at the club.

Lunin aspires to be the starter after the King’s Cup, but this seems unlikely given Thibaut Courtois is firmly established as the first-choice goalkeeper. Courtois has returned from injury in top form, effectively eliminating any potential competition for the starting spot in the Merengue goal.
