Liverpool fans tell Arne Slot to ‘leave three players in Plymouth’ after stunning FA Cup upset

Liverpool fans have told Arne Slot to ‘leave THREE players in Plymouth’ following their stunning FA Cup upset.

Liverpool were eliminated from the FA Cup on Sunday after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Championship side Plymouth. Ryan Hardie scored a second-half penalty to secure an unexpected victory for Plymouth over the Premier League leaders.

Following the loss, Liverpool fans on social media expressed their frustration by criticizing three players in particular: Kostas Tsimikas, Harvey Elliott (who conceded the penalty), and Federico Chiesa.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) vented: “Leave Tsimikas, Elliott, and Chiesa in Plymouth. Diabolical performances and attitude for senior players. Plymouth deserved the win.”

Another fan commented: “Tsimikas, Elliott, and Chiesa – what a world-class performance, guys. Seemed like they weren’t bothered, and the quality shown from them was utterly rubbish.”

A third supporter added: “Voronin away at Arsenal was the worst individual performance I’ve ever seen in a Liverpool shirt. Elliott, Chiesa, and Tsimikas well and truly exceeded that today.”

Another fan posted: “Some of you think Tsimikas is better than Robbo. You should all be ashamed of yourself.”

Finally, one user summarized: “Chiesa and Elliott today, man. Deary me.”

The criticism of the trio was sharp, reflecting the disappointment of Liverpool’s early FA Cup exit.

After Liverpool’s shocking 1-0 defeat to Championship side Plymouth in the FA Cup, fans voiced their frustrations with the team’s performance, particularly targeting three players: Kostas Tsimikas, Harvey Elliott, and Federico Chiesa.

Ryan Hardie’s second-half penalty secured Plymouth’s historic victory over the Premier League leaders, and social media quickly filled with criticism. One user on X (formerly Twitter) bluntly stated, “Leave Tsimikas, Elliott, and Chiesa in Plymouth. Diabolical performances and attitude from senior players. Plymouth deserved the win.”

Other fans were equally harsh: “Tsimikas, Elliott, and Chiesa – what a world-class performance, guys. They didn’t seem bothered, and the quality shown was utterly rubbish.” One even compared the trio’s performance to the infamous outing of Voronin against Arsenal, saying, “Elliott, Chiesa, and Tsimikas well and truly exceeded that today.”

Some fans also took issue with those who rate Tsimikas higher than Andrew Robertson, with one commenting, “Some of you lot think Tsimikas is better than Robbo. You should all be ashamed of yourself.”

Elliott, who conceded the penalty, addressed the defeat after the match, admitting the team wasn’t good enough. “It wasn’t our best game at all, but we fought to the end and kept pushing,” he said. “It’s a learning curve… sometimes this is what happens in football.”

The loss ended Liverpool’s quadruple hopes, with manager Arne Slot now facing just his fourth defeat of the season.
