Mohamed Salah has surpassed a long-standing Premier League record, previously held by Andy Cole, who was directly involved in 21 away goals for Newcastle during the 1993/94 season. With 14 games still to play, Salah has already contributed to 22 away goals (13 goals, 9 assists) and could be on course for his best individual season since joining Liverpool in 2017.
Salah is also leading the Premier League assist charts with 14, ahead of Bukayo Saka and Antonee Robinson (both on 10). Across all competitions, he has an astonishing 48 goal contributions, further cementing his status as one of the league’s most dominant attackers.
Uncertainty Surrounds Salah’s Future at Liverpool
Despite his record-breaking performances, Salah’s long-term future at Liverpool remains uncertain. His contract, along with those of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, is set to expire this summer, raising concerns about a potential high-profile departure.
Former Liverpool defender and close friend Dejan Lovren has shed light on the situation, suggesting that Salah feels the club isn’t meeting his expectations in negotiations.
“Salah believes there are things missing from the club’s side, and I hope it will be resolved soon,” Lovren told WinWin. “Right now, he is closer to leaving than staying. I feel the club doesn’t respect him as much as he thinks he deserves, but that’s another discussion.”
Despite the contract standstill, Lovren emphasized Salah’s deep love for Liverpool, stating that the Egyptian forward wants to stay and could even see himself retiring at Anfield—if an agreement is reached.
