Barcelona offers AC Milan a crazy swap deal to secure the signing of Rafael Leão in the upcoming transfer window

Barcelona Eyes Rafael Leão, Proposes Swap Deal with Milan

Despite reports that Rafael Leão is hesitant to join Barcelona due to competition with Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco remain keen on securing the Portuguese forward.

Leão’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has been in discussions with Barcelona for some time, but financial constraints and AC Milan’s initial €100 million asking price made a deal impossible. However, with Barcelona’s financial situation improving, Milan is now reportedly willing to negotiate for around €65 million, as Leão’s role in the squad has diminished.

Barcelona’s Swap Offer

According to El Nacional, Barcelona is considering including Fermín López as part of the deal to reduce the transfer fee. López, who impressed early under Xavi Hernández, has struggled for consistent game time following Dani Olmo’s arrival and the club’s tactical adjustments. While Barcelona still values López, they see this as an opportunity to secure Leão, given their surplus of midfield options.

Now, the decision rests with AC Milan, who must evaluate whether López fits into their long-term plans and whether the deal is financially viable. If the Rossoneri accept, Barcelona could land a world-class winger to bolster their attack for the upcoming season.
