BREAKING NEWS: live from sky sports, Liverpool will be left without seven players against PSG as UEFA disciplinary action looms.

Liverpool Faces Key Absences Ahead of PSG Clash

Liverpool will be without at least four players when they take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League round-of-16 first leg on Wednesday night. Despite having no fixtures over the weekend, their injury list has continued to grow.

Injury Concerns and Suspensions

Long-term absentees Joe Gomez (hamstring) and Tyler Morton (shoulder) remain sidelined following surgery, while Conor Bradley is set to miss several weeks due to a hamstring injury sustained against Aston Villa.

Additionally, young defender Amara Nallo is suspended after receiving a red card on his debut against PSV Eindhoven in January. However, given his limited role in the first team, his absence is unlikely to affect Arne Slot’s selection significantly.

Disciplinary Worries for Liverpool

Liverpool also faces potential suspension risks, with four key players—Ibrahima Konaté, Andy Robertson, Harvey Elliott, and Alexis Mac Allister—one yellow card away from a ban.

Mac Allister, having already served a suspension earlier in the tournament, must tread carefully, as players receive an automatic one-match ban after accumulating three bookings and for every odd-numbered yellow thereafter.

Meanwhile, Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Luis Díaz, Kostas Tsimikas, and Darwin Núñez each have one yellow card and would only be suspended if they pick up two more before the quarter-finals.

Arne Slot Back on the Sidelines

Despite ongoing disciplinary concerns, Liverpool will have manager Arne Slot and assistant Sipke Hulshoff back on the touchline in Paris. While both are currently serving a two-match Premier League ban for their conduct in last month’s fiery Merseyside derby against Everton, they are eligible to coach in the Champions League.

With key players missing and others at risk of suspension, Liverpool must carefully navigate this crucial European tie as they aim to progress to the quarter-finals.
