Jaydan Kamason Emerges as Surprise Candidate to Replace Amad in Manchester United’s First Team
Kamason Shines in FA Youth Cup Thriller
Manchester United U18s secured a thrilling 3-2 extra-time victory over Arsenal, advancing to the FA Youth Cup semi-finals. Jaydan Kamason delivered a standout performance, sparking speculation about his potential first-team future.
United took the lead with a spectacular long-range strike from Jack Fletcher, but Arsenal equalized before halftime through Louie Copley’s clever finish over goalkeeper Tom Myles. In the second half, 15-year-old Max Dowman converted a penalty to give Arsenal the advantage. However, United fought back—Kamason’s stunning late goal forced extra time, and substitute Bendito Mantato secured the win with a close-range finish. Arsenal’s hopes faded further when captain Will Sweet received a late red card.
Coach Adam Lawrence Commends Kamason’s Display
After the match, U18s manager Adam Lawrence praised Kamason’s performance, telling the Manchester Evening News that the young full-back was among United’s standout players on the night.
“Jaydan has been outstanding, showing consistency and quality, which is expected from a second-year U18 player here. He’s a fantastic athlete, loves to attack, and that goal will be a special moment for him,” Lawrence said.
He also highlighted Kamason’s dedication and development:
“There’s no secret formula—just hard work. He’s always been an attacking full-back, and his final delivery has improved a lot. His pace and energy make him a real threat in the final third.”
Could Kamason Fill Amad’s Void?
With Amad Diallo ruled out for the rest of the season, Manchester United have struggled to replace his attacking influence, particularly in the right wing-back role. While Diogo Dalot has stepped in, fans feel the team lacks an explosive alternative.
Joshua Zirkzee has occasionally featured on the right, but Kamason’s attacking instincts and relentless energy make him a compelling option. His display against Arsenal demonstrated his ability to drive forward effectively—an area where Amad excelled before his injury.
Although Kamason has yet to make his senior debut, his raw talent and offensive mindset could provide manager Amorim with an unexpected solution. While he may not be a direct replacement for Amad, his ability to contribute in attacking areas from right wing-back could make him a valuable asset for United’s first team.
