Liverpool are expected to be very active in the summer transfer window, with a major focus on revamping their attack, which has been inconsistent this season.
It is widely believed that Darwin Núñez will leave at the end of the season, prompting Liverpool to prioritize signing a new striker. Alexander Isak is high on their shortlist, while Viktor Gyökeres has also been linked. Additionally, the club may look to bring in a new left winger, as Luis Díaz has been heavily linked with a move away.
Díaz is reportedly very open to joining Barcelona, with the La Liga club making him their top target for the summer. However, they may have to wait before securing his signature.
Former scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Liverpool are unlikely to let Díaz leave without securing a replacement first. He explained: “For this to happen, you’ve got to have someone coming in—I don’t know who Liverpool are looking at to strengthen their squad. It would be difficult for them to let Díaz go without a replacement. They’d be better off keeping him if they can’t find an upgrade, but you get the sense they’re not entirely happy with their current options.”
So far, there haven’t been many concrete links between Liverpool and potential left-wing signings, suggesting the club isn’t fully committed to selling Díaz. However, given Barcelona’s strong interest, a move cannot be ruled out—especially if a significant offer comes in from the Catalan side.
