Florentino Perez tells Ancelotti he wants to sell Real Madrid star for €120m

Real Madrid is concentrating on their initial La Liga matches and aiming to secure the title for a second consecutive year, especially with the addition of Kylian Mbappé, who is determined to win every possible trophy with the team. In a press conference before the Real Mallorca game, Ancelotti stated that the transfer window had closed for Real Madrid, declaring, “Our team is now complete.”

According to Spanish newspaper Defensa Central, Real Madrid received offers and rumors suggesting that if Rodrygo Goes had been available for sale, he could have easily been sold for €120 million, a figure confirmed by Florentino Perez to Carlo Ancelotti. Although neither the club nor the player took any steps in this direction, it is known through various agents that Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain were prepared to pay this sum for the Brazilian.

The newspaper also revealed an unexpected development regarding Perez’s plan to potentially sell Rodrygo in the summer of 2025 to acquire Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, which has surprised and unsettled Ancelotti. Despite the recent arrival of Mbappé, Rodrygo has remained committed to staying at Real Madrid at least through the 2024-2025 season.
