🚨 Dembele Snubs Player of the Match Award After PSG Survive Villa Scare

“We thought we were too good” – French winger furious despite UCL semi-final spot

Ousmane Dembele made headlines for refusing the Player of the Match award after PSG edged past Aston Villa 5-4 on aggregate, despite a shocking 3-2 loss in the second leg.

The French winger, who assisted Nuno Mendes’ goal, looked visibly furious post-match and declined to take the UEFA award home, storming down the tunnel with a stony face.

Speaking after the game, Dembele blasted his side’s complacency:

> “At 2-1, we thought we were already qualified. That’s how the Champions League goes.”

Despite advancing to face either Real Madrid or Arsenal in the semi-finals, Dembele emphasized the need for higher standards:

> “We will have to be more demanding. This match will serve us well.”

PSG remain in pursuit of their elusive first Champions League title — but Dembele’s reaction says it all: the job’s far from done.
